چکیده
National policies have targeted widespread exclusionary discipline in schools which is associated with negative academic outcomes. Principals play an important role making disciplinary decisions, yet little understood about how their mindsets might impact these decisions. We hypothesized that principals’ regarding the purpose of (exclusion vs. prevention) would predict responses to misbehavior. Exclusion beliefs predicted more severe discipline, whereas prevention greater endorsement referring student school counselor. Principal also real-world contexts.

متن کاملImprecise Beliefs in a Principal Agent Model∗
This paper presents a principal-agent model where the agent has multiple, or imprecise, beliefs. We model this situation formally by assuming the agent’s preferences are incomplete. One can interpret this multiplicity as limited knowledge of the surrounding environment. In this setting, incentives need to be robust to the agent’s beliefs. We study whether robustness implies simplicity. Under mi...

A network of interconnected brain regions, including orbitofrontal, ventral striatal, amygdala, and midbrain areas, has been widely implicated in a number of aspects of food reward. However, in humans, sensitivity to reward can vary significantly from one person to the next. Individuals high in this trait experience more frequent and intense food cravings and are more likely to be overweight or...
